  1. Managing and Overseeing Daily Operations:
    • Supervising month-end and year-end processes.
    • Handling accounts payable and receivable.
    • Managing cash receipts.
    • Maintaining the general ledger.
    • Handling payroll and utilities.
    • Monitoring treasury, budgeting, and cash forecasting.
    • Analyzing revenue and expenditure variance.
    • Reconciling capital assets and trust account statements.
    • Running check runs and tracking fixed asset activity.
    • Managing debt activity.
  2. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Monitoring and analyzing accounting data.
    • Producing financial reports and statements.
  3. Establishing Proper Accounting Methods:
    • Ensuring compliance with accounting principles.
    • Enforcing accounting policies and procedures.
  4. Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Providing recommendations for process improvement.
    • Initiating corrective actions.
    • Assigning projects and directing staff to ensure accuracy and compliance.
    • Meeting financial accounting objectives.
  5. Fiscal Record Keeping:
    • Establishing and maintaining fiscal files and records to document transactions.

Requirements and Skills

To excel in this role, an Accounting Manager should have:

  • Proven working experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, or Finance Manager.
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office, accounting software, and databases).
  • The ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
  • Profound knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
