Kurtis is a civil and criminal litigator.  He has experience in various areas of litigation, including corporate and commercial disputes, insurance, real property disputes, construction disputes, and labour and employment law.  He appears regularly before the Court of Queen’s Bench on civil and criminal matters and has appeared before the Provincial Court in both chambers and trial settings. 

Kurtis is also passionate about estate litigation, and devotes a significant part of his practice to assisting clients with wills and estate planning and estate administration.   

A native of Red Deer, Kurtis returned to his hometown after completing his law degree at the University of Saskatchewan College of Laws with Distinction in 2016.  Kurtis then completed his articles in Saskatchewan before becoming an associate at Johnston Ming Manning LLP in 2017. 

Kurtis is a proud member of the Piper Creek Optimist Club, and outside of the office his interests include squash, tennis, hockey, golf and 10-pin bowing.
